ALASKAS Record Release Show

You are all invited to come out this weekend for the ALASKAS' CD Release show at Healthy Times Fun Club at it's usual top secret location. Universal Studios Florida are fairly fresh off the road from their first tour supporting their new record Ocean Sunbirds. Heavy local duo Last Slice of Butter are playing for the first time in a grip, and are completely local for the time being. I'm happy to announce the appearance of Wet Paint on the bill, featuring members of Cut***Loose (RIP). They tore up my living room a week or so ago and everyone who saw them should be truly excited to see them perform again.

See you this Saturday!

ALASKAS is Dillon James Rego, a one-man power-house of primitive bliss, looped vocals and loose, slippery beat boxing. His debut full length, Set Yourself Free, out September 15th on Highfives and Handshakes, is a culmination of his vast musical past, combining the sonic fury of his live show with the glittering guitar sound scapes of his last EP. Featuring new recordings of some of his most rhythmically and lyrically memorable songs as well as new, reverb-drenched hymns, Set Yourself Free is a masterfully crafted experiment in layering and melody at once ferocious, meditative and wholly unique.

PRE-ORDER SET YOURSELF FREE in the Records section.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 20TH

Another incredible lineup taking place this Friday in my basement:

Foot Village from LA are 4 drummers. Screaming. Attacking. // Magic Johnson is from Portland. Bilingual boy and girl with crispy crunchy dance punk. A Los Angeles party bus running red lights with Oregon plates. // Total Bros are from Portland. Fast, fun, mathy catchy fast jams. If you missed them a couple weeks ago, here is another chance. If you saw them, you'll be here. Duh. // Cut***Loose is my favorite band. The three instruments kind of sound like they are arguing about religion or Richard Pryor or something. // ALASKAS has lost his voice.

ALASKAS reporting on the scene.

Hello friends, thanks for having hella fun on Saturday with me. I had a total blast. I wanted to let you know about a crucial show at my house, Chilladelphia, on Sunday. It features 2 incredibly excited young bands from Seattle: Herr Jazz and Problems. Also, from Portland we have the super-fun duo Total Bros making their Seattle debut. And, all the way from my hometown of Santa Rosa CA, comes Exasperation Missionary to beat your ass with some old-school screamo. The boys from Batman Vs. Predator, who shredded my house twice now, hold down bass and drums, so you know what you're getting into.

Oh, then on Friday the 13th, I am invading another living room in the U-District with my newest collaborator, comrades, and solid dudes who hook me up with rides to our shows: Universal Studios Florida. Check out their remix of my song Pronoun as well.
